Alfa Romeo, a name
that symbolizes Italian passion for cars, has come together with some of
Australia’s leading chefs to produce a cook book of
recipes
that illustrate the Italian passion for food with recipes for the finest modern
Italian cooking.
“We
believe that Alfa Romeo cars excite more of the senses than most cars, but we
have yet to produce an Alfa Romeo that can actually be tasted,” says Kevin Wall,
General Manager for Alfa Romeo in Australia.
“So we have gathered 12 of Australia’s leading chefs and asked them to
illustrate the Italian passion for food with recipes that our owners may cook
for themselves before or after an exciting drive in their Alfa Romeos.
Alternatively the book provides a list of fine restaurants with which to end a
wonderful drive in an Alfa Romeo!”
The
chefs who have contributed to “Leading Italian Food by Alfa Romeo” are Joe
Camilleri of Mezzaluna; James Kidman of Otto; Darren Simpson of Aqua Luna; Robyn
Touchard of Elio; Peter Kuruvita of Flying Fish; Mario Percuoco of Zenith on
Booth; Vanessa Martin of Il Piave; Beppi Polese of Beppi’s; Giovanni Pilo of
Cala luna; Tim Fisher of Arte Cucina; Danny Russo of L’unico and John O’Riordan
of Grappa.
“This book predominantly features NSW chefs, but our aim is work around
Australia over coming months,” says Kevin Wall.
“We want to provide a showcase for the finest Italian cooking in Australia and
to make its enjoyment as easily accessible as owning an Alfa Romeo, whether
eating at the featured restaurants or cooking these wonderful meals at home.”
“Leading Italian Food by Alfa Romeo” is available free of charge from all Alfa
Romeo dealers in Australia. It is edited by Jill Baynes with Art Direction by
Atol Dupuche and it is illustrated with exquisite photography by Malcolm Graves |
