Ferrari is
featuring alongside some of the other great names in design and fashion in a
spectacular celebration of Italian style at Harrods, the legendary London store,
which has recently inaugurated its "Made in Italy" experience.
For eight weeks, a brand new Ferrari 612 Scaglietti will take pride of place in
a special display area located in the ground floor, adjacent to the Men's
Department. The Ferrari is displayed alongside Poltrona Frau's new Regina
armchair.
Poltrona Frau, Italy's leading brand in the luxury upholstered home, office and
contract furnishings market, is the official leather interiors supplier for all
Ferrari and Maserati products.
On Monday the Italian Minister for Foreign Trade Adolfo Urso together with
Harrods Chairman Mohamed Al Fayed officially opened the "Made in Italy"
exhibition.
"This exhibition is a great commercial opportunity for Italian
companies, as London is the most important financial and trading centre in
Europe," said Mr Urso.
Last night a "Latin Lovers and English Roses" themed party marked the start of
the "Made in Italy" experience. Italy's finest from the worlds of fashion,
design, art and photography partied the night away with England's fairest,
against a backdrop of the most exciting, beautiful, sexy, chic and eccentric
facets of Italian culture.
A string of international personalities were there, delivered to the event in
style by a glittering fleet of Ferrari and Maserati cars. Guests were greeted by
scenes from 'La Dolce Vita', as glamorous Italians flit about aboard Vespas and
classic Fiat Cinquecentos.
The 5th floor exhibition presents the very essence of Italy, and features an
authentic Italian street party that includes piazza cafes serving Italian
cocktails and food, to be savoured against a background of Italian sounds by DJ
guru Luca Agnelli who beckoned those keen to dance the night away.
