Maserati, in collaboration with
Trenitalia, has opted to carry out its international press Quattroporte road
tests in Modena and Tuscany.
Over a five-week period, groups of journalists from around the globe will be
welcomed to the new plant in Modena. There, they will get to know the Maserati
saloon before being accompanied on a specially chartered Eurostar train to
Florence, where they can test the car on a circuit situated between San
Gimignano and Siena.
The Eurostar’s locomotive will be decked out in Maserati colours and passengers
will be presented with a reproduction Eurostar, in its special livery, when on
board.
“Thanks to this agreement with Trenitalia, journalists from around the world
can experience two Italian companies that, in their own fields, represent the
best of Made in Italy,” declared Antonello Perricone, CEO of Maserati Spa.
“Trenitalia welcomed Maserati’s partnership proposal with open arms,”
stated Trenitalia’s Managing Director, Roberto Renon. “This unites two
excellent products - the Eurostar and the Quattroporte – from two companies and
two groups, the Ferrovie dello Stato [National Railways] Group and the Ferrari-Maserati
Group, that have been integral to Italy’s industrial history”.
The Maserati Quattroporte generated a lot of enthusiasm when it was on show at
the Frankfurt Motorshow. With a sporty temperament, boasting a refined V8, 400
CV engine and unparalleled weight distribution, the Quattroporte is the
authentic Italian flagship. At over five metres in length and with a sumptuous
interior, it easily holds its own among luxury saloons. |
