Maserati, known
for both its speed and its style, proved true to its heritage, quickly selling
out all 60 Neiman Marcus Limited-Edition 2005 Quattroporte luxury sedans, after
going on sale via telephone on October 14, 2004 at noon EDT.
Calls began immediately at noon, with requests for 60 cars completed within
three minutes. In 36 minutes, all orders were finalized.
The result, although impressive, is not surprising given the Quattroporte’s
waiting list of 18 months through Maserati dealers.
The flagship sedan of the Ferrari Maserati Group represents the perfect
automotive embodiment of qualities for which Italy has long been admired – an
appreciation of beauty and good living, elegance, sophisticated engineering,
scintillating performance and alluring exclusivity
The Quattroporte’s 4.2-liter 400-HP V8 engine can take you from 0-60 mph in 5.1
seconds with a top speed of 170 mph. It’s the only luxury sedan in its class to
place the engine behind the front axle, a race-proven technique that provides
superior harmony between car and driver.
According to Maurizio Parlato, president and CEO of Ferrari Maserati North
America, the synergy between Maserati and Neiman Marcus goes well beyond the
sale of its newest luxury item. “We are extremely pleased with the response
of the NM Quattroporte.” said Parlato.
“Based on our experience with the Neiman Marcus ‘In Circle Rewards Program’
we felt confident the car would be well received, but the overwhelming demand
emphasizes the bond between the Neiman Marcus customer and the Maserati driver.”
The all-new NM Maserati Quattroporte, priced at US$125,000 each, was
regarded as one of the more exotic fantasy gifts within Neiman’s 97-year
tradition.
For this exclusive offering, Ferrari Maserati Group's Director of Concept Design
Frank Stephenson and his team selected the stunning combination of colors,
materials and finishes working closely with Sergio Pininfarina.
As a result of this collaboration, each Neiman Marcus Limited-Edition
Quttroporte sold will bear Pininfarina's signature alongside its owner's name on
a unique, individually numbered, nameplate.
Each NM Quattroporte will feature a new Bordeaux Pontevecchio metallic paint
finish, unique chromed mesh-front grill and side vents and 19" polished wheels.
Inside, the custom handcrafted interior surrounds occupants in luxurious ivory
Poltrona Frau leather with bordeaux piping and mahogany wood accents.
Maserati North America, Inc., based on Englewood, N.J., has 45 dealers
nationwide and is the exclusive distributor of the Maserati Quattroporte 4-door
luxury sedan, 2-door Coupe and Spyder convertible. Fully-owned by Ferrari,
Maserati vehicles are handcrafted and designed in Modena, Italy.
