Pole
position went to Francesco Ravasio and Diego Alessi with a lap of
1:54.963 for the Trofeo Vodafone Maserati Europa 2004 race at
Hockenheim which takes place tomorrow, Sunday, as a curtain raiser to
the German Grand Prix.
This is the second of two rounds of the one make series that takes
place on the same race card as a Formula 1 race.
Second in today’s qualifying was the Italian Luca Frigerio (1:55.597),
in his second race with a Maserati, ahead of the Swiss due Hans Notter/Max
Cattori (1:55.631) and of the current leader of the series Andrea
Palma (1:55.645).
Completing the top six are the Italian Maurizio Fabris (1:55.947) and
the British duo Frank Mountain/Rob Wilson (1:56.142).
Twenty four cars with drivers from four different countries will take
part in the race which runs to the usual mini-endurance formula with
compulsory pit stop, to make sure there is also plenty of excitement
in pit lane. |
