Second
day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working again
today at both Fiorano and Monza.
On the
track which hosts the Italian Grand Prix on 12th September, Michael
Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello were in action. The German driver
had an endurance run on his schedule, as well as trying various set-up
configurations on the car. Testing earlier than planned because off an
off-track excursion.
While the driver was uninjured, the car was badly damaged. Up to that
point, Michael had completed 95 laps, the quickest in 1’21”063.
Barrichello did 57 laps, with a best time of 1’20”849. The Brazilian
worked on tyre testing, set-up and trying new aerodynamic components.
At
Fiorano, Luca Badoer continued with a Bridgestone tyre development
programme, covering a total of 96 laps (18 of them on the short
version of the track.) His quickest lap was a 58”712.
