Sergio Marchionne, Fiat Group CEO
announced last week in Turin, Italy, Fiat Auto’s new organizational
structure effective immediately. The new structure will ensure
effective management through fast and lean processes centering on
teamwork.
Fiat Auto CEO, Herbert Demel, will
be responsible for guiding Fiat Auto’s cultural transformation and
relaunch efforts. 28 top management posts will report directly to
Demel of which 24 have been filled. The remaining four managers will
be announced in the coming weeks.
The new organization is designed to
move beyond the old hierarchical structure, emphasising
empowerment and rapid response capacity. According to Fiat Group CEO,
Sergio Marchionne, ”This change in management, personnel and mentality
will help develop a heightened sense of responsibility, promoting fast
decisions and establishing synergies between the functions. There can
be no doubt that it will lead to multiple benefits in terms of
operating efficiency, resource management and cost containment.”
