Thai Prestige Autosales (TPA), distributor of Alfa Romeo and
Fiat in Thailand, unveiled another special edition of the Alfa
Romeo 156 Selespeed, at the 21st Thailand International
Motor Expo last week.
The Alfa Romeo 156 'Sport Pack II', with its GTA-inspired
aerodynamic parts, is regarded by TPA as the perfect answer to every sporting
heart.
The exterior features a 'sports' front grille, xenon
headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, larger vented disc brakes, a
sports exhaust system, and Alfa Romeo's famous emblem
emblazoned on the side skirts.
This 'sporty' theme continues into the interior, with a Momo
gearshift shift knob, hand brake lever, and silver-effect
finished trims.
The
'Sportpack II' edition is likely to be the farewell version of
locally assembled Alfa 156, before the planned introduction
of new Alfa Romeo models which are expected to begin
arriving in 2005.
The Alfa 156, was assembled in Thailand for several years, and
this new version, along with the forerunning 'Speciale II',
which was launched at the Bangkok Motor Show back in April,
are clearing out stocks of the model still remaining in the
country.
TPA continues to remain tight-lipped about next year, but rumour
suggests that the Alfa GT Selespeed and the recently
facelifted
executive Alfa 166 saloon are the most likely candidates for
Thai market.
