The
Ferrari 612 Scaglietti made its official UK debut at the 'Motor Show Live' in
Birmingham this morning. The single example, being shown at the NEC in Blu
Mirabeau, took pride of place alongside the Challenge Stradale and 575 M
Maranello on a compact stand.
Ferrari's latest
front engined coupe received its world premiere at the North American
International Auto Show in Detroit at the beginning of the year, the all-new,
aluminium four-seater immediately raising the art of grand touring to a new
level of sophistication.
Longer, wider and taller than the 456M it replaces, the 612 Scaglietti offers
ease-of-entry for rear-seat passengers to an outstandingly luxurious cabin that
will accommodate four adults in absolute comfort.
Powered by an advanced V12 engine it has a top speed of 199mph and for the first
time on a Ferrari, computerised electronic stability and traction control (CST).
Demand for the
exciting new model in the UK, one of the marque's strategically most important
and well established markets, was instantaneous. With first deliveries to
customers commencing in July, this year's UK right hand drive allocation of 60
cars has already been quickly sold, and orders are now being taken for
deliveries running well into the course of next year.
The eye-catching
car on display has certainly been grabbing attention in Birmingham. Its
sensuous, sweeping Pininfarina-styled lines, coupled to its rich interior, which
combines elegance with a sporting and simplistic nature, make Ferrari's UK
importer confident that they have yet another winner on their hands. |
