The Lancia Musa
has made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, a compact MPV which is an upmarket
tilt on the recently introduced and well received new Fiat Idea.
The Musa receives the corporate 'family' look and the completely restyled front
end is influenced by the Ypsilon. At the rear, the new, larger tailgate is again
drawn from the Ypsilon, and overall the the effect is to create smoother, more
flowing lines. Inside the Musa makes wide use of more opulent materials in
softer, warmer colours as it aims to create a welcoming, luxurious environment.
In Lancia's words, "It is
designed for people who do not want to forgo practicality but like to enjoy life
with flair and elegance. It is a tall, aerodynamic model, which is spacious and
versatile, embodying an elegance that is rich but never ostentatious, and
modern, refined styling. The ideal place in which to welcome passengers, making
them feel welcome guests, to whom you can dedicate traditional Italian care and
courtesy."
The Musa, the name was devised by the Turin-based creative group "515" from an
Italian Italian name that is soft
and seductive just the car aims to portray itself, dominates the Lancia line-up.
Three models take centre stage in a display that as usual seeks to exude luxury
and opulence. One model is mounted on a large, raised, revolving turntable under
a huge banner, the whole feature forming the focus of visitor's attention. This
model is flanked by two further examples that are available for detailed
examination. |
