27.09.2004 The new Fiat Stilo Racing has been presented in Paris, a car aimed at youthful, dynamic customers who are looking for an attractive, sporty car that is at the same time cost-effective and accessible

The Fiat Stilo is strongly represented at the Paris Mondial de l'Automobile this week by no less than three new versions.

Pride of place on the spacious stand undoubtedly goes to the new Stilo 'Uproad'. Based on the popular Multiwagon, this pumped-up version features swages of new plastic protection panels, bigger bumpers, new chunky alloy wheels and a raised ride height.

Joining the Uproad are two 3-door 'sporty' versions of the Stilo: the Stilo M.Schumacher, a limited edition model created to celebrate the German Ferrari driver's recently claimed seventh Formula One title title, and the Stilo Racing.

This latter model is being aimed by Fiat at youthful, dynamic customers who are looking for an attractive, sporty car that is at the same time cost effective to purchase and run, as well as being practical and accessible.

A single Stilo Racing has been presented at the French motor show, fitted with the tried and tested 140bhp 1.9 JTD diesel engine, and finished in a shining jet-black metallic paint scheme.

The car, available exclusively in 3-door format, will also be offered with a 103bhp 1.6-litre 16v petrol engine option, or finally, the entry-level 1.9 JTD diesel unit, which has 115bhp available on tap.

A raft of standard features aim to give this new model an embedded 'sporty' feel. These include beefy 17-in alloy road wheels, a tailgate lip spoiler, sports-style pedals and footrest, steering wheel mounted radio controls, an integrated radio and CD player, a Kiron kit and metallic paint.

Finally the Stilo Racing's standard equipment includes a manual climate control system, revised rear foglamps, and exterior model-specific 'Racing' decals.
