The DAMS team stopped at Adria Raceway yesterday, on route to their race debut Imola, for a day's testing with both their new Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT sportscars, that will be entered in the final four rounds of the FIA GT Championship. One of the two cars was brand new, only
delivered the day before by builder Reiter Engineering. Yesterday was more of a
shake down than a real test for this car as it obviously had never been driven
before. Jean-Denis Deletraz and Andrea Piccini, who along with Ortiz and Gabbiani, tested their car last month at the Le Mans Bugatti circuit, spent most of the day working towards an ideal set up for Imola this weekend, once they had rectified an initial brake problem. Eric Boullier, Managing and Technical Director commented "We are satisfied with the reliability of the car. We do not have any reference regarding performance but it looks positive. We are still learning a lot about this car, Reiter did a very good job and our relation with them is excellent. All the team is happy to run these two Murcielagos and we are highly motivated to bring them to the top".
