2nd in GT:
Fabrizio Gollin - nr 2 BMS Scuderia Ferrari 550 Maranello: "I have a good
feeling with the car. Tomorrow, it will be very important for the Championship
to see the finish line.
"Matteo has been very unlucky this year. Now he's put back to the last position.
It will be a good opportunity for me to gain a few more points and increase the
gap.
"Having 100 kilos ballast weight will be difficult for the tyres, particularly
at this track. It will be very difficult to finish the race without a mistake.
Last year, only very few cars finished the race. So it's important to be
careful!"
2nd in N-GT:
Christian Pescatori - nr 62 GPC Giesse Ferrari 360 GTC: "We did a lot of work
for the race today. We only used one set of new tyres, because we want to keep
the others for tomorrow.
"We want to start the race on a new set of tyres. It's the first time my team
mate is in the car, but he's doing great. He's very fast, and very
professional."
2nd in N-GT:
Vincent Vosse - nr 62 GPC Giesse Ferrari 360 Modena: "This is not only my first
time in the car, it's my first time in the N-GT category. The car is going
really well, and the team has done everything to ensure that I feel at ease with
the car.
"We've done good work so far and prepared the car well. The car is really good
to drive, and I think it will be fine for the race. The difficult part compared
to driving in GT is that you really have to keep a close eye on your mirrors.
"But I am very pleased to be back in the FIA GT Championship. Even if I did the
24 Hours of Spa, I wanted to do other races, and the team proposed that I should
do this race, which really pleased me. I'm one of the highest point scorers in
the FIA GT Championship [6th highest] and it was important to be here and to
build something up for next year."
4th in GT:
Gabriele Gardel - nr 1 BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello: "We had a car
which could have been fighting for pole. Everybody saw that we were competitive
when we set the fastest time in free practice yesterday.
"Matteo did a good lap time this morning. Not a wonderful lap, but it was good.
But then the engine was playing up. We will now try to score as many points as
possible tomorrow.
"The Championship is still open, there are three races to go, thirty points to
get. To hold on to second position is what we hope we can achieve. Catching
Fabrizio is just a dream, he's so far ahead, but we'll see. We were very unlucky
this season. But all things considered, when you\'re still in second position
with all this bad luck, that's not so bad, I think."
5th in GT: Andrea
Bertolini - nr 33 AF Corse Maserati MC12: "I'm very happy. We've changed a lot
of things since Friday. I'm happy with the balance of the car now. I just hope
it's not going to rain, because we've done a lot of work on the set-up for dry
conditions.
"We used two new sets of tyres, one for the morning session and one in the
afternoon. In the second session, the track was a lot slower because of the
higher temperatures, though.
"We changed the car to the race set-up in the second qualifying. I won here last
year in N-GT, but to repeat it in GT this season will be difficult."
8th in GT: Karl
Wendlinger - nr 17 JMB Racing Ferrari 575 GTC: "Overall, the qualifying has gone
well. I set my best lap with my second set of tyres, after I was stuck in
traffic with the first set.
"I could have been about one or two tenths faster, maybe, if it hadn't been for
this. So I think we can be content with our speed. In the afternoon, we were
doing consistent lap times with the used tyres. We're quite happy!"
15th in GT:
Andrea Piccini - nr 24 Dams Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT : "It was not the best
day for us. We had a good free practice yesterday and we were expecting a
similar result today.
"But then we had a transmission problem in the morning - the drive shaft broke -
and we lost most of the first session because of that. We could only do a total
of three laps in the morning session, and on top of that, I made a mistake in
the best lap.
"We're fifteenth now, but we easily could have been within the top ten. The
second qualifying went a lot better, we set the fourth quickest time of the
session.
"At the end of the day, we're happy with the car, we were simply unlucky. The
problem is that it's very difficult to overtake on this track, so we'll see how
it goes tomorrow."

Johnny Herbert, AF Corse Maserati MC 12: “This morning we
worked well, even though I was bumped by another driver after I had
let him past. In the contact – an altogether unnecessary one – I
damaged the right mudguard. There was also a lot of traffic out there.
Overall, I think I have a good car for the race." |

simply unlucky." |
