13.12.2004 BMS Scuderia Italia will campaign two of its Care/Prodrive Ferrari 550 Maranellos in the GT1 category of the 2005 LMES and at the Le Mans 24 Hours

Double FIA GT Championship winners, BMS Scuderia Italia, have finalised an agreement with Care Racing Development to campaign two of its Prodrive-developed Ferrari 550 Maranellos in the GT1 category of the 2005 Le Mans Endurance Series.

The new deal sees the highly successful business relationship between the two companies move into a 4th successive year.

The Italian, Brescia-based, team has also announced its plans to compete with the Ferraris in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time since 1997 [which was with a Porsche 911 GT1], using the pre-selected entry awarded to them as FIA GT Champions.

BMS will apply to the ACO for a second entry with the aim and hope of entering as a two-car team.

Having won two successive FIA GT Championship Team titles and the 2003 Drivers' title with Thomas Biagi and Matteo Bobbi and, in 2004, with Luca Cappellari and Fabrizio Gollin, BMS has decided to run in a different programme which it considers more in line with its new sporting ambitions.

In addition to its Le Mans Endurance and 24 Hour plans, BMS will take part also in the Italian GT Championship with a further two Care Racing owned Ferrari 550 Maranellos.
