21.04.2004 CARE RACING WITHDRAW THEIR AUTOMATIC ENTRY FOR LE MANS AS REQUIRED SPONSORSHIP FAILS TO MATERIALISE |
Care Racing announced today that it has withdrawn its pre-selected entry for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, thereby allowing the company to concentrate fully on the support, management and success of its three remaining Ferrari 550 Maranellos entered by Prodrive (2 cars) and Larbre Competition (1 car).
The decision, communicated today to
the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), was reluctantly taken due to the lack of
sponsorship required to support the additional entry. “We have been in negotiation with a number of very strong companies in recent months but unfortunately, as I am sure many people know, it is very difficult to find sponsors in the current economic climate and we were not able to finalise anything in time for Le Mans. “There were a number of different racing teams willing to manage the entry on our behalf but unfortunately they were not able to secure any sponsorship either so we will not find ourselves in a position to work together for Le Mans this year. |
