06.05.2004 Force One have withdrawn their Pagani Zonda from this weekend's opening LMES round at Monza as they seek to cure electrical AND braking issues

Force One have taken a late in the day decision to withdraw their Pagani Zonda GR from this weekend's inaugural round of the Le Mans Endurance Series at Monza.

The Phillipe Alliot run Force One team gave the Carsports Holland developed Zonda its first public outing of the year at the Le Mans preliminary tests the weekend before last.

During the morning four hour practice session the car only completed 11 laps after suffering persistent electrical problems and matters were not helped went the Zonda spun on track late in the session and would not restart.

The afternoon brought little respite and only seven laps were completed while another spin wrapped up the days proceedings.

With these electrical problems still not resolved Force One have elected to pull the Mercedes-Benz powered supercar from the Monza round. They are also concerned that brake balance issues which were highlighted by the cars tendancy to spin during the Le Mans sessions also need to be rectified.

Force One are expected to enter one of the team's Chrysler Vipers, last used last year in the FIA GT series, for their driver line-up of Kumpen, Halliday and Besson, while a test program with the Zonda will commence next month.
