Vicki
Butler-Henderson and Matthew Marsh won the third round of the Trofeo Vodafone
Maserati Europa 2004 at Silverstone earlier today, a curtain raiser to the
British Grand Prix.
The two British journalists, special guests at the race on board the VIP car of
sponsor Ermenegildo Zegna, relegated the British pair Fabris/Macari and the
Italians Petrini/Grimoldi to second and third place respectively.
The race was interrupted shortly before the official end time, following a
collision between the cars driven by Benedetto Marti and Richard Meaden, without
consequences for the drivers.
In the final classification, based on the last lap completed before the race was
interrupted, fourth position was taken by Luca Frigerio who led home Alberto
Cerrai and Benedetto Marti.
In the championship overall, Andrea Palma remains the leader with 54 points,
three points ahead of Alberto Cerrai.
The next round of the Trofeo Vodafone Maserati Europa 2004 will take place at
Hockenheim in Germany on 25th July, once again accompanying the Formula 1
championship.
