06.02.2004 MASERATI CONCLUDE SECOND WEEK OF TRACK TESTING WITH THE MCC AT FIORANO TODAY

The Maserati MCC development test program started its second week on track on Tuesday with test drivers Andrea Bertolini and Fabio Babini sharing driving duties over the four days at Fiorano.

Development work on the new car, which will be officially presented at the Geneva Motor Show next month, continued on Wednesday with Bertolini completing a total of 88 laps with a best time 1:11.833, while Babini did 50 laps, the quickest being a 1:12.517.

Yesterday’s technical programme centred on tyre and engine testing. Bertolini covered 74 laps, the quickest in 1:12.020; Babini did 54, his best time being a 1:12.686.

Today was the fourth and final day of development testing at Fiorano. Babini completed 82 laps, the quickest in 1:12.446. In the afternoon, Bertolini took over, doing 11 untimed laps while carrying out pit stop simulations.
