Today
saw the second and final day of testing this week for the Ferrari Corse Clienti
department and for the Reparto Corse Maserati, both working at the Fiorano
circuit.
Andrea Bertolini concentrated mainly on development of the Ferrari 575 GTC, in
preparation for forthcoming FIA GT Championship races and for the Le Mans
Endurance series.
The sports test driver for the Ferrari Maserati Group once again carried out a
data acquisition programme, completing 58 laps, without any times being
recorded.
In the late afternoon, Bertolini switched to the Maserati MC12, destined to
compete in GT races and covered 32 laps, with a best time of 1:11.756.
This morning at Fiorano also saw the shakedown of some electronic solutions that
Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro may use during Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix, to be run
at the Catalunya Circuit, near Barcelona.
Badoer completed
a total of eight laps, half of them on the short version of the track, with none
of them timed.
In what turned
out to be a busy day at Fiorano, once again former F1 World Championship Alain
Prost was on the track, undertaking a few more runs at the wheel of a Maserati
MC12.
'It is always an interesting experience to drive cars of different types,'
declared the French driver. 'Yesterday the track was wet nearly all the time, so
given that the weather had improved slightly, I was keen to also try the
Maserati in the dry.'
