The
European Alfa Challenge moved onto Hockenheim last weekend for the fourth pair
of races on the championship calendar.
Once again, the series for Alfa 147 GTA Cup racers, was part of the 'Super
Racing Weekend' package that also features the FIA-sanctioned European Touring
Car and GT Championships.
The winner
of race one on Saturday
was youngster Massimiliano Fantini from Reggio Emilia in Italy driving for PFM
Sport. Following him home, less than a second adrift at the chequered flag, was
another young driver from the same city, Maurizio Campani.
Campani, and his C & C Racing Team, then went on to win the Sunday's race two,
after a race long battle with Tuscan citizen Andrea Larini, while Irishman Eoin
Murray claimed the final podium position.
With a win, his third this year, and a second place, it was a hugely rewarding
weekend for Campani and he now moves to the top of the championship standings,
followed by another Italian, Simone Iacone, who struggled and in the end managed
only two fifth place finishes. |
