The special series Fiat Palios showed continued improvement and showed on the weekend that the team’s hard work has resulted in cars able to run competitively with the Class C leaders.

“Mike (O’Sullivan) had an excellent weekend with two finishes on the top step of the podium,” said Michael Burkhart, General Manager for Marketing at Fiat Auto SA.

“Despite difficulties in qualifying for Mike, the team has really pulled together well with good improvement from new driver Dawie Brough who has fitted well into the team and the continued strong performance of Theunis Eloff.”

Continued strong performances throughout the Class C field has resulted in some of the most hotly contested races in the championship to date and will provide an ongoing challenge to the three Fiat Palios.

The Palio Racing Team moves to Round 8 of the Vodacom Power Tour at Phakisa on 18 September.
