After their success at the last
round of the SA Production Car Championship at Zwartkops, victory could not be
repeated for the Fiat Palio Bluetooth Racing Team.
Round Seven of the Vodacom Power Tour was some consolidation for the Fiat team,
complete with a new driver.
“From complete novices to a victory in their first year of racing is
no mean feat,” said Michael Burkhart, general manager for marketing at Fiat Auto
SA of the Palio Racing Teams efforts at Kyalami this weekend.
“The team has made major strides forward that has resulted in a good reliability
record for the Palios and great promise in pace.”
Newcomer to the team Dawie Brough completed the three-car Fiat Palio
offence in Class C.
The special series Palios are in their first year of racing with regular drivers
Theunis Eloff and Mike O’Sullivan.
“Team spirit is one of the biggest factors that differentiate the
Palio Racing team from others,” continued Burkhart.
“You just needed to see the Alfa Romeo 147GTAs and special series Fiat Palio’s
stop as a united Italian team in front of the companies guests on Saturday to
see the passion we all have for racing.”
The Palio Racing Team moves to Round 7 of the Vodacom Power Tour at
East London on 28 August.
