The Alfa Romeo Club of Serbia held a get
together at Novi Sad this month, with the ranks of Alfisti
swelled by guests from Hungary.
This was to be the third meeting of the newly incorporated
Alfa Romeo Club of Serbia. The club was recently formed by a
group of Serbian Alfa Romeo enthusiasts, with the aim of
bring together owners and those with a passion for the
Italian marque, as well as promoting interest in Alfa Romeo
in this Balkan nation.
This gathering was held in Novi Sad on 12th June and was
attended by a number of Alfa Romeo owners and their cars,
the ranks swelled by fans of the maque. In fact with
fourteen cars turning up, this multiplied by three the cars
which turned by for the last meeting. Early days for the new
Serbian club, but testimony to the fact that the brand is
popular and well respected here.
The day of the meeting began warm
and sunny, and so early in the morning the Alfa Romeo owners
started to gather in the Hotel Intercontinental's large
parking area. An convoy of Alfas, was assembled and then
departed by highway towards Novi Sad. That
the convoy consisted of fourteen Alfas, made it obvious that
meeting was going to be more important than last one, which
had been held about two months earlier.

In Novi Sad, arriving Alfisti was surprised by a warm
welcome of eighteen more Alfa Romeo’s, together with a lot
more people. This was thanks to friends from a neighbouring
country - Hungary - who had driven over for the occasion,
and thus the meeting became truly international. This
central meeting lasted about two hours, and lots of
different Alfa’s could be seen; starting from a GT Junior
and Spider, through to the Alfasud Sprint, Alfa 33, 75 and
145, 155, 164 models, to the very latest, redesigned Alfa Romeo
156 saloon. After that, the company of Alfisti and Alfas
moved into the mountains near Novi Sad, at Fruska Gora,
where lunch and discourse continued.
All in all it was a highly enjoyable day, and for a young
club, gathering up thirty two Alfa Romeos, and more than
ninety people, was an achievement to be proud of, and
hopefully we can grow from here.
