28.03.2005 Autodelta have revealed the mystery fourth car to participate in the 'European Tour 2005', will be a Maserati GranSport

With less than 24 hour hours left to go before the '2005 European Tour' departs from the London base of Europe's foremost Alfa Romeo tuner, Autodelta, to start an epic mad dash across Europe to the 'My Car' show in Rimini, Autodelta have revealed the mystery car fourth car in the convoy, will be a Maserati GranSport. Italiaspeed, along with Auto Italia magazine, will join the tour.

A brand-new GranSport model will join their bespoke creations, the Autodelta 147 GTA AM 3.7, 147 GTA AM 3.7 Super and GT Super on a race across Europe, which will take us through France, Belgium and Germany, over the awesome climbs of the Alps, including the famous hairpins of the Stelvio Pass, descending to sweep along the shores of glittering Lake Garda, picking up the legendary roads of the Mille Miglia, through Modena before Rimini draws into sight.

Why a Maserati GranSport? "It just seemed the right decision to make when we drew up the line-up of cars for the trip," explains Autodelta boss Jano Djelalian. "We wanted to focus tightly, so only four cars were chosen. The new 320bhp GT Super of course would be the highlight, we have pushed our 147 GTA AM theme even further with the new 400bhp supercharged example so we would have something unseen before that we could proudly present in Italy, while the 'standard' 328bhp 147 GTA AM 3.7 was a must.

"Finally, to swiftly commemorate the tie-up between Alfa Romeo and Maserati in the new Fiat Auto Division we also decided to take along the GranSport.

Autodelta have revealed today that the fourth car to take part in their 'European Tour 2005' will be a Maserati GranSport

"The recent Maserati GranSport model superbly exemplifies what we strive to achieve at Autodelta: a sporty car, taken to the performance edge, enhanced with its own identity, yet a car that remains deeply conscious of its fabulous heritage, and draws fully upon it" remarks Autodelta's Jano Djelalian

"The recent Maserati GranSport model I believe superbly exemplifies what we strive to achieve at Autodelta: a truly sporty car, taken to the performance edge, enhanced with its own identity, yet a car that remains deeply conscious of its fabulous heritage, and draws fully upon it, continues Jano.

"This car was in fact only delivered to its new owner last Thursday, so we have merely run through system checks ready for the trip.

"Lastly, there will be a subtle twist in the plans for day three of the Rimini tour, and in this context the logical inclusion of the GranSport on the trip will become all the more apparent," concludes Jano. From tomorrow, when the tour starts at 0500CET in London, we look forward to bringing you day-by-day reports on the event's progress.
