'A fan-company
effort - a union for overcoming problems and winning'. Jean
Todt thus summed up the framework for the meeting held today
in the Ferrari showroom at Maranello. He was among the
Prancing Horse communications management and delegates from
over 50 clubs. The objective was to find a new structure for
the clubs of official Scuderia fans.
In guidelines
defined by Ferrari as 'necessary', Antonio Ghini outlined
the package of proposals that the company had put on the
table to regulate the new club statute. This was done in
order to establish a central official structure denoted 'Scuderia
Ferrari Club' that would set out common rules by which the
clubs would operate. The fans'
representatives expressed their 'great appreciation' and
'surprise' as they took part in almost three hours of
discussions on the new regulations for the clubs. The
guidelines are based on a structure with Ferrari holding
executive powers and a group of club representatives,
selected on a regional basis, to contribute to ensuring that
the rules are applied.
The 'Scuderia
Ferrari Club' would consist of as many geographically
dispersed sections as there are currently clubs. These
sections would adopt the new name. Each member would form
part of the whole and pay a membership fee. In return the
clubs would receive a series of services from individually
numbered membership cards and free access to the You&Ferrari
online community to participation in F1 test days as guests.
There is also the opportunity to visit the company
headquarters, discounts on purchases made at the Ferrari
Store in Maranello, and entrance to the Galleria (which can
be extended to all ticket events). Free Tribuna Ferrari
tickets for the Friday at the GPs of Imola and Monza are
another benefit. Further, as well as the sweater-cap-badge
kit personalised with the name 'Scuderia Ferrari Club', an
official F1 report will be sent by electronic mail at the
end of each race.
