Fiat Auto has launched an internet site accessible to its Authorised Network and Independent Repair Centres where technical literature in the form of workshop manuals, time schedules and spare parts catalogues necessary for servicing its brands (Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo) can be consulted.

Fiat Auto decided to launch the new site (currently still at an experimental stage) in order to extend final testing to Independent Repair Centres, well in advance of the timing announced during Autopromotec 2005 held in Bologna in May. During this experimental stage, access to the site will be free-of-charge but subject to a time limitation (sufficient, however, for hands-on testing of functions during technical assistance work).

The System - reports Fiat - will be definitively operative during the beginning of October 2005 and was developed to meet the needs of all kinds of clientele, exploiting the possibility of applying different connection rates (to be announced later):

• one hour for straightfoward operations;
• one day for complex work or Centres with less experience with Fiat Auto brands;
• one month or one year for constant and continual work on Fiat Auto vehicles.
