Today, the Fiat
Panda passed the milestone of 500,000 units manufactured.
Two years after it was first launched onto the market, the
Fiat Panda passed this ambitious milestone with a car that
was ordered in Italy, finished in the 'Emotion
specification, with a 1.3-litre 16v Multijet engine, and
sparkling light blue paintwork.
The Panda is built in Fiat's Polish assembly plant at Tychy,
and destined primarily to the European markets, although it
is also sold in countries such as Malaysia, Taiwan and
Martinique, and there are also in fact, 1,831 Pandas on the
streets of Japan. And it was a Japanese customer who ordered
Fiat Panda number 499,999 - a Climbing 4x4, with Titian Red
paintwork - while number 500,001 - an Panda Active with
yellow bodywork - remains in Poland.
