Automobili
Lamborghini announced today that it has appointed Mercury
automotive division as its authorized dealer in Russia.
The
authorized sales and service
center will open in Moscow in July, when the dealer will
start accepting the first customer orders for Lamborghini
supercars.
"An introduction on the Russian market
is very important and also absolutely strategic for
Automobili Lamborghini,”
said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili
Lamborghini.
“We have many customers in
Russia who are enthusiasts and lovers of our Brand and our
supercars," he added. "We felt therefore the need to
provide, through the new dealership, current and future
Lamborghini owners with local sales and after sales support,
as we do on other markets around the world.”

Winkelmann continued, “We have chosen Mercury, a company
with vast experience in the sports and luxury car business,
as our partner because of its reliability. This company
represents many other important brands in Russia, and not
only in the automotive field. Our aim is to create a long
and profitable cooperation with Mercury that will help
strengthen the image of the Lamborghini brand in this
country. We are already present on the market with three
models: the Murciélago Coupé, the Gallardo and the
Murciélago Roadster.
Russia is one of
the most promising developing markets for automobiles as
well as for luxury goods. Mercury consider this combination
to be a fruitful setting for the continuing growth in demand
for Lamborghini supercars.
“We are sure
that Lamborghini is going to be a jewel on Moscow roads and
that our customers will appreciate the explosive performance
of these supercars,” explained Ilya Berezin, Head of Mercury
automotive division. “We are already working hard on the
creation of a branded service to satisfy the requirements of
current Lamborghini owners, as well as future owners who
will order a Lamborghini from us. In early 2006, an
authorized Lamborghini showroom will open its doors to
customers on Tretyakovsky Proyezd.”
