With five
hundred and ninty five cars being sold during the course of
2004, Italy is now Maserati’s third biggest global market.
Maserati’s home country is now ahead of Great Britain and
Japan in sales, with only buyers in the United States and
Germany placing more orders. An increase of 76.03% percent
on 2003 is the reason why the House of the Trident can claim
its place at the top of the Italian market in terms of
growth.
These very important sales figures were largely due to the
success of the Quattroporte. In its sector, the model
competes against a number of other cars but now has secured
a market share of over 50%.
The excellent performance on the home market is not a
one-off as significant signs of growth have been registered
in Japan, Germany and France.

The commercial success is the fruit of Maserati’s
initiatives to build customer loyalty. The Trofeo Vodafone
Maserati Europa, in which clients compete on the track, is a
typical example of this.
The first Trofeo Vodafone Maserati Europa test session ahead
of the 2005 season took place at Fiorano. The famous Italian
singer-songwriter, Max Gazzč, also got behind the wheel on
the day. Gazzč is a fan of racing cars and is a keen
gentleman driver.
After his stint on the track, Gazzč revealed that he was
pleasantly surprised by the performance of the Trofeo
GranSport and was seriously considering taking part in the
entire series.
The championship is run on the main European circuits on the
same weekends as F1 Grand Prix and FIA GT championship
races. |
