As the Geneva Motor Show enters its second week, Fenomenon Holistic Design reveal yet more exclusive information to Italiaspeed about the design of their stunning Stratos concept.

The latest information from project manager Christian Hrabalek, concentrates on the chief designer behind the Fenomenon Stratos, Hermidas Atabeyki.

Atabeyki represents just one of the ten professional design talents who initially communicated design proposals in order for Christian Hrabalek to evaluate and steer the Stratos project forward in terms of design direction.

Hrabalek says, “It was the design of Hermidas that I chose from all the sketch proposals, and we have worked closely together since the very beginning of this project.”

Hermidas Atabeyki is an ex-Renualt designer who graduated from the College of Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Hermidas’ extensive portfolio includes three production cars for Automobiles Renault, including the Renault Clio. After working for Renault he set up his own design development consultancy company, Atabeyki Design Development (ADD), 11 years ago in Paris.

ADD has previously worked for large multinational companies, including: Citroën, Lamborghini, Peugeot, Renault and Toyota. ADD not only focuses on working in the automotive industry, with projects also including mass-transportation design and yacht design.

The fruit of the yacht project was the M-147 Blohm & Voss megayacht concept, a design which included a striking personal submarine docking feature and a length of over 482 feet. The M-147 concept also includes hangars for 2 individual helicopters, and space for a third on the helipad.

Powered by four 7,400 bhp MTU diesel engines, the M-147 would represent the world’s largest megayacht if it ever becomes reality. There is also the option of replacing two of the diesel engines with a single 26,000 bhp gas turbine for a top-speed of 33 knots.

After Atabeyki’s Stratos vision was favoured by Hrabalek, he became the design director behind the Stratos project, guiding the following designers who aided with the styling development: Sylvain Rousselet and Vincent Taillée-Wilson (exterior), and Emmanuel Goursat (interior). All of the Alias Computer Aided Design work, for both the ‘Stradale Version’, as well as the ‘Rally Version’, was completed by Frédéric Robin.

Christian Hrabalek’s respect for the designers that have worked on the Stratos project is highly understandable. Hrabalek enthuses, “The whole Stratos project could not have been completed without the input and effort of the above individuals, and I am delighted to now be in a position to communicate the names of the designers that were involved in the project.” One thing is for certain, the fruit of the designer’s work, which is currently undergoing development for production, is certainly a design worthy of the legendary Stratos nametag.
