Fiat has
announced the appointment of Paolo Monferino to the position
of Chief Executive of its Iveco trucks to buses division.
Monferino has been Chief Executive of CNH for the last five
years, based in the United States, and has been an executive
within the Fiat Group for the last 30 years.
He is replacing José Maria Alapont who held the Chief
Executive's position since October 2003, and who is now
leaving the Group to join Federal Mogul.
"I am thankful for the extraordinary effort that Mr. Alapont
has provided in bringing Iveco back as a strong and viable
player in the truck market" said Sergio Marchionne, Chief
Executive of Fiat Group. "We wish him the utmost success in
his new engagement".
"I am also delighted that we have been able to rely on the
seasoned experience of someone like Paolo Monferino to take
Iveco to the next phase of development.

"He has done an outstanding job in integrating Case and New
