A
scale model of the Birdcage 75th will represent the Pininfarina Group at the
World Expo to be held from 25 March to 25 September in the Aichi Prefecture,
near Nagoya, the third major industrial centre in Japan after Tokyo and Osaka.
The World Expo will see six months of entertainment, events and exhibitions to
create a mosaic of the most varied and different cultures, with no less than one
hundred and twenty four countries and organisations ready to take part and an
expected arrival of fifteen million visitors.
The Birdcage 75th is a tribute to
the Maserati of the future. With this new creation, which is based on Maserati
traditions and their most advanced engineering, constructed in cooperation with
Motorola, Pininfarina has returned to creating a dream car which sums up the
vision of the three companies: exclusive design, sporting DNA and technological
innovation.

At the recent 75th International Motor Show in Geneva, where the Birdcage
75th was given its world preview, it went on to win the “Best Concept” of the
show prize as part of the
Editors’ Choice Awards, assigned by the important American magazine, Autoweek.
This is a highly prestigious award, presented in Geneva each
year, and Pininfarina's latest creation beat off stiff
competition to scoop the prize.
