In Frankfurt there
have been presented a number of new features on
Lamborghini's flagship supercar, the 12-cylinder Murciélago,
which is being shown in Model Year 2006 (Coupé and Roadster)
format.
The most
important of these additions is without doubt the
possibility to now equip the car with carbon-ceramic brakes.
Carbon-ceramic brake discs offer clear benefits over
conventional discs.
The main three are: braking
efficiency remains constant at both low and high
temperature, with no fading, even after hard use;
secondly,
improved handling, agility and
efficiency; and finally shorter
braking distances with reduced pedal effort.
These main
advantages are complemented by a
longer lifetime, the discs are
lighter than steel equivalents
and that it is a
“state of the art” system.
The Murciélago
MY 06 also now complies with EU4 standards (ECE). A
new standard equipment package includes a Becker navigation
system (not for the USA) and a range of new options.
Optional equipment includes the “Interior Carbon Package“,
where a number of the interior components are made from
carbon fibre.
