This year is
Pininfarina’s 75th anniversary, a milestone the company
celebrates at the 2005 Geneva International Motor Show with
the world preview of a new concept car together with some of
its projects for the near future.
CONCEPT CAR
- world preview
A tribute to the
Maserati of the future. With this new creation, based on the
Maserati heritage and on its most advanced mechanicals and
realised in collaboration with Motorola, Pininfarina revives
the storied theme of the true dream car proposed in a
synthesis of the vision of the three companies: exclusive
design, sports DNA, technological innovation.
Pininfarina’s prosperous collaboration with Maserati, marked
by the great international success of the Quattroporte, is
celebrated with this rolling hi-tech sculpture that evokes a
new future context, imaginary but possible, while
simultaneously paying homage to the strong and distinctive
brand characteristics of the Tridente. The integration of
Motorola’s technology in the car realizes the seamless
mobility concept: the car itself becomes an intelligent
moving network, able to interact with its passengers and
keep them constantly and seamlessly connected to all the
aspects of their lives.
FERRARI
SUPERAMERICA -
design
A consummate
demonstration of Pininfarina design, this latest Ferrari
creation is the fastest berlinetta convertible in the world,
thanks to its top speed of 320 km/h. A rotary roof opening,
electrochromic technology and a 540 bhp power output
complete the picture of a car destined for limited edition
production.

This new Geneva -bound Pininfarina creation, based

AVICHINA (HAFEI) SAIBAO -
design AND
engineering
Saibao is the
fifth vehicle born from the cooperation with the Chinese
company AviChina (Hafei), that is successfully lasting since
1996. Even in this case Pininfarina had the responsibility
of the car design, of its engineering development and of the
homologation at European Standards, while the production
will be carried out in the AviChina plants.
This is just an example of the Pininfarina leadership
position in China as service provider to the local
automotive manufacturers, that will be further confirmed by
the presentation at the next April Shanghai Motor Show of a
world premiere for another consolidated customer such as
Chery.
In addition to the above Pininfarina has very recently
signed a cooperation contract with the Chinese company
Changfeng for the development of an SUV.
The overall growing success in the Chinese market has led to
the decision to establish a stable structure in Beijing, to
be followed by other dedicated structures close to the
Customers manufacturing plants.
MITSUBISHI
COLT COUPÉ-CABRIOLET - design, engineering AND manufacturing
Mitsubishi and
Pininfarina present a coupé-cabriolet concept version of the
New Colt that previews the production model they have
jointly designed and developed. This new 2+2 sports car will
go into production in Pininfarina’s factory in Turin, Italy,
in Spring 2006. |
