As it looks
forward to a bold new future back as part of Fiat Auto,
Maserati has
been presented its potent range at the 75th Geneva Motor
Show over the last week and a half.
The entire Trident range is being displayed on a new stand
designed to show off the cars like contemporary works of
art. To meet the expectations of a cultured clientele, the
stand has been further enhanced by exclusive detailing.
Two elegant Quattroportes, equipped with the most refined
accessories, flank the exclusive Spyder 90th Anniversary.
The Spyder will be available in a limited edition version
from the spring. Also on show is the new Coupé MY05 in
Executive set up, one developed to push the car to the top
of its class. It includes the Skyhook system, Xenon
headlights, rear parking sensors, black grille and 19-inch
rims.
The GranSport lines up next to the track-prepared version of
the model, the new Trofeo GranSport.
The car will
compete in the third Maserati Trofeo championship which is
reserved for gentlemen drivers on the international scene. A
vehicle that always attracts admiring looks is the super
exclusive and extreme MC12. 2005 will see the second
production run of 25 MC12s. The glorious racing no 33 MC12
also appears at the stand. The car took two wins in the FIA
GT championship last season. This particular car will be
auctioned by Sotheby’s at Fiorano on 23 May along with other
out-of-production models from the past.

Now back as part
of Fiat Auto and linked up with another famous Italian
automotive brand, Alfa Romeo, the Trident marque now opens
an new chapter in its nine-decade long history and sets off
on a new adventure, under the direction of able new CEO
Karl-Heinz Kalbfell.
Huge excitement surround the unveiling Pininfarina-built, MC
12-based, 'Birdcage 75th' concept at the Geneva Palexpo. A
simply stunning show car which captures superbly the very
essence of the Trident brand, it instantly became one of the
talking points of this most important of international motor
shows.
In a clear hint that it could reach production, Maserati
released the following 'official' line: "What does the
future hold? A concept car, dubbed the 75th Birdcage, based
on the most advanced Maserati mechanics and designed by
Pininfarina, is a sign of extreme strength, beauty and
innovation. The model could be the extreme supercar that
defines the coming years."
A real teaser
for Maserati enthusiasts worldwide, and a statement that
will leave them firmly holding their breath. Maserati's new
dawn looks as if it is about to herald a glorious new era
for the Trident badge.
