After long weeks of preparation for this race, the JMB Racing USA crew is ready
for its 3,070 miles journey to California; the farthest travel of the season for
the Miramar, Florida based JMB Racing USA Ferrari race team.
The fourth round of
the Rolex Sports Car series marks a cornerstone for the young team created in
2003. JMB Racing USA is campaigning two Ferrari 360 Grand American GTs, a Rolex
Series first for the Ferrari team since their 2003 ALMS inaugural season.
The Ferrari 360 Grand American GT #11 will be co-driven by pro-drivers, American
Matt Plumb and Italian Constantino Bertuzzi and the second Ferrari 360 Grand
American GT #12 sponsored by Leander Estates / Red Bull Civils / Kennedy Homes
and Shutterfly will be driven by David Gooding from England and Americans Tom
Jermoluk and Dan Kennedy.
For the Road & Track 250 weekend, Grand American Road Racing Association
announced a rules change allowing a weight reduction for the Ferrari 360 Grand
American GT from 2700 lbs to 2600 lbs., a positive change that should benefit
the JMB Racing USA cars at a racetrack like Laguna Seca.
"Thanks to efforts of the talented crew at JMB Racing USA the learning curve has
been steep with the Ferrari 360 Grand American GT," explained Matt Plumb. "The
car at Daytona and Homestead ran flawlessly and we continued to make positive
changes to develop the car. I do not think our results so far have been
representative of the team's and car's potential. It is clear that JMB Racing
USA is able to put together a reliable and consistent package with the Ferrari,
it is up to the drivers and the Grand American tech folks to make it competitive
with the Porsches and BMWs." Plumb continued.
"I think our chances of being on the podium next weekend are
good. So far I believe we have not seen a track that
compliments the strong points of the Ferrari 360.

"We have struggled against the torque and straight-line
speed of the Porsches and BMWs at the infield courses at
Daytona and Homestead, however, Laguna Seca's track layout
should match well with the Ferrari's handling and braking
abilities. Also, having Constantino Bertuzzi back for this
event gives us even more reason to expect great results.
Costa, in addition to being very quick, knows this Ferrari
360 inside and out." Declared a motivated Matt Plumb before
the California event.
Bertuzzi, who already competed with JMB USA at Homestead, brings a fantastic
racing background with Ferrari cars. No one knows the Ferrari Challenge better
than him. He had the privilege to develop it in Italy when he was test driver
for the Ferrari factory.
Bertuzzi won eight titles, six of them behind the wheel with
the Ferrari Challenge including one world championship (1998), two European
championships (1997, 1998) and two Italian championships (1997 and 1998) and two
North American Ferrari 360 Challenge titles as a team manager for Ferrari of
Beverly Hills in 2001 and Ferrari of Orange County in 2002.
A trio of successful international businessmen will drive the second JMB Racing
USA Ferrari 360. David Gooding from London, England, has already competed with
the team at the Rolex 24 at Daytona early this year and recently raced in the
reputed Spa 1000 KM in Belgium.
Tom Jermoluk from Miami Beach, Florida, and Dan
Kennedy from Scottsdale, Arizona, are making their first comeback to Grand
American racing competition since their 2004 season appearances with an SGS
Ferrari 360 Challenge at Homestead and Phoenix.
