Amato Ferrari’s
AF Corse team has announced the crews that will drive the
Trofeo Light in the GT3 category of the Italian GT
championship. The team last year took the MC12 for its debut
outing in the FIA GT.
The Piacenza based outfit will field a top-class line up
with the crews formed by Andrea Palma and Danilo Zampaloni
in the first car, while Rui Aguas and Luca Frigerio will
share the other.
Andrea Palma showed his good form last year in winning three
races to take the Trofeo Vodafone Maserati Europa crown. In
the past he has competed in the Campionato Italiano Velocità
Turismo and in the Alfa Romeo Cup.
Hailing from the Marche region, Danilo Zampaloni has also
raced in the Campionato Italiano Turismo. He has also taken
part in the Renault single-make series at the wheel of a
Renault V6 and in the Clio Cup.
Rui Aguas was born in Lisbon and has experience of Formula
Ford, Formula 3 and Formula 3000. In 2001 and 2002 he
participated in the Campionato Europeo Super Clio.

FINAL PRE-SEASON
TEST FOR TROFEO RUNNERS AT ADRIA
The Adria
circuit, close to Rovigo, hosted the final pre-season Trofeo
Vodafone Maserati Europa test session on Friday. Over twenty
three drivers from four countries drove the car derived from
the standard GranSport ahead of the first single-make race.
The tests only began in the afternoon owing to the snow that
fell during the night. The cars were mounted with Pirelli
PZero wet tyres and took to the track once the conditions
had been made safe. Emanuele Smurra, the 2003 champion, also
appeared at the Veneto circuit. He will compete in the
series together with his brother, Stanislao.
The opening event is scheduled for 8, 9 and 10 April at
Monza, on the same weekend as the first FIA GT Championship
race. |
