Scuderia
Ecosse today announced ambitious plans to contest the British GT
Championship, the Le Mans Endurance Series and the Le Mans 24 Hour race in
2005.
The team will run a fleet of three magnificent Ferrari 360 GTC’s, with
the full endorsement and support of Ferrari and Michelotto.
After a fantastic debut season in the 2004 British GT Championship, where
the team narrowly missed out on overall victory, Scuderia Ecosse will be out
to take the crown this time around and won’t settle for anything less.
The
team is also stepping up to the international arena with an assault on the
highly-competitive Le Mans Endurance Series and an entry in the world’s most
famous motor race: the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Nathan Kinch and Andrew Kirkaldy will compete in the British GT
Championship, the LMES and at Le Mans itself whilst Chris Niarchos and Tim
Mullen will take on the British series for Scuderia Ecosse. The team has
yet to choose a third driver for the Le Mans 24 Hours.
“These are exciting times for Scuderia Ecosse and we’re thrilled to be
taking part in such a great mixture of events”, commented Team Owner Stewart
Roden. “It’s going to be a fairly frantic season but I have a great team and
I know we’re up to the challenge.

"We were disappointed to miss out on the
British GT title last year especially as we know on a level playing field
the Kinch/Kirkaldy combination is unbeatable, this year it appears we have a
level playing field.
"I’m delighted we will continue with our driver line-up
as all four are an integral part of the team: Nathan and Andrew have a lot
to prove this year and Chris and Tim are fired up win more races.
"When it
comes to our prospects for the year we’re naturally cautious as there are a
lot of unknowns for us what with the LMES and Le Mans but I’ve every faith
in my team to do a good job and I hope to still be smiling at the end of the
year!”
After a successful test at Magny Cours last week, the Scuderia Ecosse team
now heads to Silverstone for the British GT Championship media launch on
Wednesday 16 March.
