With Care Racing supported teams filling the first four places in the LMES (Le Mans Endurance Series) classification, there remains between them (Convers, BMS Scuderia Italia and MenX) a very close battle to be fought for overall honours at the Nürburgring this coming weekend.

One of Care Racing's Prodrive-developed Ferrari 550 Maranellos has won every single round in the series' history to date, with the Czech Team MenX being the most recent to record victory at the extremely wet Silverstone race on the 13th August. The competition for victory will be fierce not only amongst the Ferraris, but also from the remainder of the GT1 category entrants particularly if the new Aston Martin DBR9 has a trouble-free run.

Team MenX will be sporting an unchanged driver line up, with Peter Kox taking the place of Tomas Enge whose IRL commitments take precedence. The team's technical director, Ivo Horn, is looking forward to the Nürburgring very much: "Silverstone was a perfect race for us and we are now in close contention for the win in the class, which, of course, brings some pressure. We are doing our best to maintain our reliability because that is the most important thing. The race at Silverstone proved that we can count on Michelin whatever conditions weather brings and we all know that Nürburgring can be quite unpredictable on that side. I believe that we can finish on the podium again."

BMS Scuderia Italia will have a new face amongst its driver line up, but not one that is new to the Ferrari 550.  Britain's 2003 GTS Le Mans winner, Jamie Davies, will be taking the place of Fabrizio Gollin who remains in the US for the forthcoming Grand-Am race, and he will be alongside Matteo Cressoni of Italy and Portugal's Miguel Ramos.

"It's 2003 since I last drove the Ferrari 550 and I'm looking forward to it as I know the car well and had some good races in it. It will feel a bit different on the Pirelli tyres, but I've got experience of them from Spa this year and I was impressed, they feel very good."

Running in the colours of Convers Bank and on Michelin tyres, the Cirtek-managed entry will be looking to improve upon their 2nd place finish at Silverstone and extend their lead in the Teams' points table. The Franco-Russian driving team, led by the highly experienced Christophe Bouchut, is race fit and ready for success after two second places and a third in the season so far. There is only one position they are aiming to finish in!
