The Silverstone
circuit will host over this weekend the fourth Trofeo
Vodafone Maserati Europa 2005 encounter of the season.
The single-make Trident championship returns to the historic
English circuit for the third consecutive year. In 2003
Emanuele Smurra claimed the win, while last year victory
went to the pairing of Vicki Butler Henderson and Matthew
Marsh. The English journalist will be paired on this
occasion with Jean Marc Giraldi.
Johnny Herbert, having driven the Maserati MC12 in the
closing races of the International FIA GT Championship last
season, will make a return to the cockpit of a Trident racer
this weekend. The ex-Formula 1 driver is now behind the
wheel of the Trofeo GranSport for the first time since the
exhibition at the Monza 'World Finals' late last year.

Herbert will share the drive with supermodel, and regular
Maserati racer, Jodie Kidd. Meanwhile there is a lot of
expectation to see how well the English drivers perform on
their home track, particularly so as this year they have
done very well, with for example series guest driver Chris
Buncombe winning at Monza, and Maurizio Fabris likewise
coming out on top in the British-run Trofeo GranSport at
Imola.
