Alfa Romeo, the
first enterprise to come to mind at the mention of Italian
style and design, will be the most popular brand at the
Istanbul Auto Show, both with its display stands and brand
new models.
Alfa Romeo
will be at its most impressive at the Istanbul Auto Show,
where it will displaying both its mass-produced models
and special versions at an extraordinary exhibit,
designed to emphasize the stature of the unique stamp of
the brand on the automotive scene. Alfa Romeo’s 696-m2
display stand at the exhibition taking place on November
2-12 in Hall 5 of the CNR will be a tribute to design
and passion, the building blocks of the brand’s spirit.
Visitors at the Alfa Romeo stand will be able to feel
the intensity and aesthetics of Italian style which
emphasise and extol the pleasures of life. It is truly
the Italian spirit that makes Alfa Romeocome alive. The
stand at the fairgrounds has been defined with simple
geometrical designs, forming a brilliant frame around
the aggressive lines of the automobiles, making them an
inevitable center of attraction.
On display
at the Alfa stand will be: Alfa 147
2.0 150 HP Selespeed Blackline; Alfa
147 1.6 120 HP Collezione; Alfa
159 1.9 JTD Q-Tronic Distinctive; Alfa
159 1.9 JTD Distinctive; Alfa
GT 1.9 JTD Selespeed Blackline; Alfa
Brera 3.2 V6 Q4 Skywindow; Alfa
Spider 2.2 JTS Skywindow and the Alfa
8C Competizione. The focal point of the display,
accentuated by dominating red and black, will be the
last mentioned: the striking
Alfa 8C Competizione. This latest Alfa Romeo jewel, which
will be produced in a limited edition of 500, and made its world
premiere just one month ago at the Paris Motor Show in
September. The new
car, designed by Alfa Romeo, represents a synthesis of the
elements that differentiate Alfa Romeos from others:
Technology and excitement. As Alfa 8C Competizione takes on
its role as a leading player, the combination of the
exhilaration generated by its design and the pleasure of its
drive clearly make Alfa Romeo stand out within its category.
The Alfa Spider, which is now preparing
to hit Turkey’s roads, is debuting with its 2.2-litre, 185
HP JTS version at the Istanbul Auto Show. As Alfa Romeo’s
latest cabrio model, making its world premiere in March
2006, the Alfa Spider was chosen “Cabrio of the year” at the
2006 Geneva Auto Show. Designed jointly by the Alfa Romeo
Design Center and Pininfarina, the Alfa Spider is one of the
leading players of the Alfa Romeo tradition with its
successful interpretation of elements of Alfa Romeo
roadsters such as “strong emotions,” “driving pleasure,”
“style” and “high-performance sports car.”

Alfa Romeo’s
sporty trump cards at the Istanbul Auto Show reflect the
brand’s Italian aesthetic concept: These are the Alfa Brera
and the Alfa GT. Alfa Romeo placed these two models, both of
which reflect all of Alfa Romeo’s classical design features,
on the Turkish market in the last 1.5 years. Created with the
joint efforts of famous automobile designer Giorgetto
Giugiaro and the Alfa Romeo Design Center. The Alfa Brera has
proved the worth of its design by receiving seven awards,
among them the “Design of the Year” award of the English
auto magazine, Autocar. Brera’s awards portfolio also
includes a commendation from Automobilia for “The World’s
Best-Looking Automobile.” These awards are proof that Alfa
Brera was made by the world’s most talented designers.
Harboring all
the features of the Alfa Romeo brand - from design to sports
driving pleasure -
Alfa Brera’s 3-lens headlights and engine hood carrying the
Alfa logo give the vehicle an aggressive and dynamic look.
Characterized by Italian grace and style, the Alfa Brera’s
V-shaped rear window is one of the vehicle’s major dynamic
elements. The designers have carried the dynamic lines of
the vehicle into a sporty concept. Alfa Brera’s dimensions
are striking: it is 1830 mm wide and 4410 mm long. Brera
also boasts of independent dual wishbone front suspension
and multilink rear suspension systems.
Available in
10 different body colors, Alfa Brera, with its
collapsing rear seats, also offers the convenience of a
functional trunk compartment with a capacity of up to
610 liters. Thanks to its Air Quality Sensor (AQS),
fresh air flow is readily available and odors outside
are prevented from entering the vehicle. The importance
given to acoustic comfort is also striking. The
vehicle’s front side windows, thicker than in other
models, as well as the soundproof insulation materials
attached to the underside of the carpet and the
dual-zone automatic climate regulator that works
silently at maximum power are all important features of
Alfa Brera. The Brera’s 3.2 V6 Q4 Skywindow version is
on exhibit at the AutoShow as well. The 3.2 liter engine
model, with its Q4 continuous 4WD system and a peak
torque of 322 Nm, needs 6.8 seconds to reach from 0 to
100 km/h.
