Cornes & Co.
have been officially importing Ferrari sportscars into Japan
for thirty years (they first started in June 1976) and to
commemorate this important milestone in the company's
history they have commissioned a special limited-edition
version of the 612 Scaglietti, to called the 612
Anniversary. Just 20 units of this edition will be produced
which will be available exclusively to Cornes & Co.'s
Japanese customers.
This is the latest special-edition of the Ferrari 612
Scaglietti to be unveiled. Earlier this year an American
collector commissioned the model's designer Pininfarina to
build a one-off, exclusively-tailored version version,
dubbed as the 612 Kappa. It was publicly presented at the
Villa d'Este Concorzo d'Eleganza. Ferrari have themselves
recently created individual options for the 612 Scaglietti
range including a new two-tone paintwork that was presented
at the Detroit Motor Show back in January. Now Cornes & Co.
have chosen the 2+2 seater V12-engined 'Gran Tourer' as the
model with which to celebrate their 30 years as a Ferrari
importer.
Mechanically, the 320km/h Ferrari 612 Anniversary is
untouched, expect that the cars all come with the
factory-fitted HGTC (Handling GTC) package as standard. From
there on however a whole host of detailing changes set the
limited-edition model apart. It is finished in a
specially-commissioned new body colour, called Blu Cornes
which reflects Cornes & Co's corporate colours. The Blu
Cornes extends to the brake calipers which are also
finished in this colour.

The 20 examples of the Cornes & Co. created Ferrari
612 Anniversary are priced at 33,980,000 Yen in
Japan and deliveries are set to begin in November. |

A distinctive new aluminium mesh front grille section
immediately identifies the 612 Anniversary from the front,
while a similar treatment at the rear complements the lower
rear bumper. Other eye catching new features include a
carbon-fibre petrol flap and silver 'Prancing Horse' wheel
centre caps.
The interior sees the standard rich tan finish being
complemented by new leather swages in the seats, armrests
and pool panels which are presented in Blu Cornes all
of which add up to create a highly distinctive and
visually-pleasing opulent interior. Other surfaces are
finished in Alcantara, including the central tunnel and roof
lining; and polished carbon-fibre is also used, the backing
of the dashboard instrument dials being very effectively
surrounded by the latter finish.
Finally, creating complete exclusivity for the Cornes & Co.
model the interior features the 612 Scagietti's usual
carbon-fibre sill kick-plates which are now mounted with a
new aluminium plaque specially signatured by Ferrari
Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, as well as 30th Cornes
aluminium plates mounted on the dashboard and on the central
divider between the rear seats. The 20 examples are priced
at 33,980,000 Yen (including taxes) in Japan and deliveries
are set to begin in November.
