The sixth
edition of the "Podio Ferrari" took place today at
Maranello. This awards ceremony is yearly held by Ferrari to
reward suppliers and technical partners which have excelled
in innovation and product development whilst working with
the Prancing Horse.
This year's Podio was attended by Ferrari President Luca di
Montezemolo, Vice President Piero Ferrari, General Manager
Jean Todt and Vice General Manager Amedeo Felisa. "Podio
Ferrari" recognises and rewards specific company qualities
such as innovation, technology and technical achievement.
For the second year in a row, Ferrari also introduced a
special prize for Italian excellence.
The "Italian Excellence" award went to OMR for "excellence
in its ongoing development, with Ferrari, of products which
have consistently met both the extremely tight frames and
quality standards of a truly dynamic company." The award was
presented by Ferrari Vice President Piero Ferrari to Marco
Bonometti, OMR's President.
Aubert & Duval. The "Ferrari Technology Award" was presented
by Ferrari's Vice General Manager Amedeo Felisa to Edouard
Duval, Director of Eramet Alliages and Aubert & Duval "for
its assistance in guaranteeing competitive performance in
Formula 1 through magnificent technological innovations in
the special steels used in our very high performance
components".
Magneti Marelli. The "Ferrari Innovation Award" was
presented by Ferrari General Manager Jean Todt to Luigi
Potenza, Senior Vice President Corporate, Sales and
Marketing of Magneti Marelli "in recognition of a
longstanding partnership which has contributed both
innovation and excellence to the Ferrari cause over the
years".
Bridgestone. The "President's Award" was presented by Luca
di Montezemolo to Takashi Urano, Chairman, CEO and President
of Bridgestone "for its major contribution to ensuring
cutting-edge performance from the Formula 1 cars and
transferring this experience to our GT cars".
As happens each
year, the Podio Ferrari also provided a platform for a
debate on high profile issues of professional interest. The
subjects addressed this year included: worldwide business
development, by Romano Mattia, Senior Economist - Strategy
and Business Development - Royal Dutch Shell; the
repercussion of the technology innovation on the automotive
area, by Bernard Bihr, President of Bosch Engineering.
