24.06.2006 FERRARI AND MASERATI OPEN SECOND RUSSIAN SHOWROOM

Ferrari and Maserati's second showroom in Russia was inaugurated yesterday. After the opening in 2004 of the dealership in the exclusive Tretyakovskiy Proezd area, the Prancing Horse and the Trident celebrated the arrival of their new showroom situated in the Barvikha Luxury Village. In the presence of numerous journalists and 700 guests, Ferrari's Granturismo General Director, Amedeo Felisa, its Commercial and Marketing Director, Andrea Bozzoli and Maserati's Commercial Director, Giancarlo Binetti, cut the ribbon to official open the new dealership. The showroom is situated in an area that houses the world's most prestigious brands.

Ferrari presented to the press and its Russian clients the new 599 GTB Fiorano. The 12 cylinder berlinetta is the most highly-performing production car ever developed at Maranello. It is equipped with the most advanced technology Ferrari has ever applied on a two-seater with a centrally mounted engine. The car sets new standards in sportiness, handling and design. Maserati, on the other hand, displayed two new versions of the Maserati Quattroporte, the Sport GT and the Executive GT, and announced a further expansion on Russian soil with a larger distribution network.

The Barvikha Luxury Village is located on the Rublyovkoje highway, a Moscow suburb where many of the country's business and political elite have their country residences. In the Soviet era the Rublyevo-Uspenskoye area was a prestigious place for living and there are a string of elite old dachas located there, including those belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affaires, as well as ones used by the military and government departments. Today is no different as the Rublyevo-Uspenskoye highway is the dwelling place of choice for members of the state, business and the art elite of Russia. The President Vladimir Putin lives in his country residence in Novo-Ogaryevo area, while ex-President Boris Yeltsin lives in nearby Razdory. Yeltsin was hospitalised during the mid-90s presidential elections, that he famously won, in Barvikha. The head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry also lives here. In the Barvikha settlement - where Lamborghini have now set up shop - currently reside popular Russian singer Dmitriy Malikov as well as the President of the giant 'Lukoil' oil company, Vagit Alekperov. Ferrari and Maserati have had a presence in Russia since 2004 and are represented by the Mercury group.
