This year's 'My Special Car Show' held in Rimini last weekend was the fourth edition of this rapidly-growing turning and custom car show. In fact more than 90,000 visitors passed through the gates of the Rimini Exhibition Centre over its three day duration.

The event, which is dedicated to customization, has stood out this year for the high quality of the cars exhibited, the well presented exhibition booths, and the spirit that pervaded all of the participants: My Special Car Show is thus once again confirmed as a great occasion not just for racing and exhibiting cars, but also as an opportunity for the like minded to spend time together. Last Sunday's itinerary saw over 150 award ceremonies being scheduled. These included Elaborare GT Tuning & Sport Magazine which organized the third edition of the Body Style Challenge, International Car Tuning & Design Trophy, an aesthetic competition divided into three categories, and elected in Rimini the queens of the categories Soft Tuning, Hard Tuning and No Limits

The My Special Club, the biggest rally for tuning enthusiast clubs, beat every record this year: 7 exhibition halls occupied, 1009 cars present, 118 clubs registered, 5 from abroad (Austria, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland). Among the over 50 awards scheduled, trophies went to the Italian club from farthest away – the A Step Ahead Tuning Club from Messina; the largest club – Astro Tuning Club, with 43 participants; while the Special Stage Out award for the best exhibition at the show went to the Sport Kit Club.

Blaupunkt and Castrol, partners of My Special Club together with Red Bull, awarded the winning clubs with the Travelpilot Lucca portable navigator, and offered 25 oil changes for every winning club.

Fiat Auto were strongly represented at the show with an array of customised Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia models all being presented. On Fiat's official stand the new Grande Punto model - currently Europe's best selling car - took centre stage, with the new Super2000 Grande Punto Rally showcar drawing much appreciative attention. The new rally machine arrived off the back of a debut win in the Rally del Ciocco just ten days earlier. Two further examples of the Grande Punto were also presented by Fiat: one was equipped with the new 90bhp 1.3 Multijet variable geometry turbine engine, while the other offered the powerful 130bhp 1.9 Multijet, both of which are characterised by the “Need For Speed” bodykit, based on the world’s best selling sportscar computer console game, as well as by a number of “tribal tattoos” stickers on the bodywork, matt films that make it possible for the car's owners to very quickly customise their vehicles.
