Throughout this summer, a highly unique Fiat Panda
prototype will be driving on the roads of the charming
island of Capri. The new Panda Jolly prototype is a
specially-built one-off
concept car designed by Centro Stile Fiat and which has been
realised by Stola of the RGZ Group, an automotive industry leader in
the construction of show cars and styling prototypes.
The Panda Jolly is destined to perform an
exclusive service of courtesy, transporting all VIP tourists
who visit the island of Capri to their destinations.
Suspended between sea and sky in the gulf of Naples, Capri
has been synonymous for centuries as a classy tourist haven
with perfect weather conditions, and is therefore the ideal
scene for the new Fiat concept car.
Fresh, light, chic and very Mediterranean in its use of
colours and materials, the Panda Jolly interior draws
inspiration from the world of nautical design, strongly
recalling the lines and spirit of the Swinging Sixties. In
fact, as with the 600 Multipla transformed by Carrozzeria
Ghia in 1956, the Panda Jolly maintains the main
characteristics of the production body with only some
modifications made to the wings, the false radiator grille
and the rear boot lid (now with external hinges).

The Panda Jolly has been finished in sky blue which, thanks
to a highly metallic finish, sparkles under the sun. Its
main lines are clean and are bound together with the rich
and precious materials that characterise the design of the
interior. The interior was developed exclusively by Paolo
Lenti, a name highly regarded in the interior design world
for innovative weaving technology.
The seats and dashboard derive from the Frame
project, also applied to the Panda MultiEco concept car
displayed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The
modular seating design is created from frames of
satin-finish steel, and on the Panda Jolly has been covered
with rope, a material inspired by sailing boats. The
combination of these two innovative ideas offers unique
benefits: applied to the seats of the Panda Jolly, the rope
material is refined and pleasant to the touch. Moreover, it
provides a synthesis between technological and aesthetic
research. Rope is anti-allergic, non-toxic, antibacterial,
hardwearing and highly resistant to UV rays. The seating
cushions, which are filled with sponge and covered with pure
cotton, are colour coordinated to match the rope material.
The floor, sill coverings and rear deck are
made from natural ash, finished in a sand colour and offset
by thin white ash inlays. The craftsmanship that has gone
into producing these details is worthy of more exclusive
Italian nautical products. The Panda Jolly is finally
embellished with satin steel finishing with extreme care
applied to the creation of every detail.
