The new Fiat
Ducato has been the vehicle most in evidence at the
Düsseldorf Camping and Caravan Show (August 26 – September
3), the most important European Fair in this sector, which
attracts over 150,000 enthusiasts of outdoor holidays to the
German city every year.
The stands of
all the major European camper conversion manufacturers have
been displaying vehicles created on the many different
versions of the chassis of the new Ducato, in van,
camper-van, cab-over and motorhome versions. The Ducato is
the most widely used chassis on the market, equipping two
out of every three camping vehicles in circulation in
Europe.
Fiat also has
its own stand, where the centre of attention is the
Truckster show car, developed by the Fiat Styling Centre,
and which represents some of the many possible ways of
converting the Ducato, with sporty “exaggerated” lines. And
a number of chassis ready to be converted into campers are
displayed around the Truckster.
Because the new
Fiat Ducato model range was designed and developed with
specialist manufacturers for conversion into campers right
from the drawing board, it has numerous exclusive strong
points. A special reinforced chassis, suspension with an
anti-roll bar, a wide track, and a Multijet engine with
specific power and gear ratios, are only a few of the
features that make the Ducato the ideal vehicle for the
camper market, as the slogan says: “Born to be a motorhome”.
This particular
attention to camper-owners’ needs does not only address the
world of the product, but also that of services. When it
launched the Ducato, Fiat also inaugurated a specific,
exclusive call centre for its customers. Today, the Camper
Customer Centre operates a dedicated call centre just for
camper vehicle owners. A simple telephone call to an
operator, in your chosen language, provides all the
necessary information about the product and the services on
offer, and can establish a contact with specialist
technicians or the Fiat Camper Assistance roadside rescue
team that is dedicated to Ducato campers.
It is possible
to call from every European country, 7 days a week, 24 hours
a day, for assistance in the event of a breakdown, an
accident, an empty fuel tank, partial theft or even lost
keys. While the vehicle is off the road, it will be possible
to obtain a courtesy car and accommodation at a good hotel.
