26.09.2006 THE FIAT GRANDE PUNTO IS COMMEMORATED ON A POSTAGE STAMP

Fiat Auto UK has just released a limited edition postage stamp to celebrate the sales success of its Grande Punto supermini. In conjunction with the Royal Mail, it has produced a stamp which depicts the dramatic front view of the car on a 1st class stamp. These stamps are expected to be highly sought after, and are available from Fiat dealerships in sheets of 20.  Each one is uniquely numbered, with a limited edition run of 6000 sheets.

Fiat’s Grande Punto supermini quickly became Europe’s best selling car soon after its international launch last autumn.

It has also proved very popular with UK customers since its introduction towards the beginning of the year.  A series of high profile initiatives from Fiat Auto UK have included presenting the Grande Punto in the window of Harrods department store in Knightsbridge. To date, over 20,000 have been sold in the UK.

Andy Hayward, Fiat Auto UK parts and service marketing manager, says: “These stamps look fantastic and we believe that they are a great way to publicise Grande Punto’s sales success.  They can be used as normal postage stamps to give letters added impact, or they can, of course, be collected by Fiat enthusiasts or philatelists.”
