27.10.2006 THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIAT 500 WILL KICK OFF WITH A MUSTER OF THE TINY CARS DURING AUSTRALIA DAY 2007

Next year is the 50th anniversary of one of the world’s most famous cars, the Fiat 500, the car that set the benchmark for small cars not to mention being voted the sexiest car in the world and Australian enthusiasts want to start the worldwide, year-long celebrations with a Fiat 500 muster on Australia Day 2007.

The Fiat 500 is set to be the featured car in next year’s NRMA Motorfest, the massive car parade that is part of every year’s Australia Day celebrations in Sydney, and organizers are calling on every 500 in Australia to try and get to Sydney. “We will be one of the first Fiat 500 gatherings of the year,” says event organizer, Alan Steele. “So we want to try and set a benchmark in numbers and quality for the rest of the world to follow as they hold their events. We are calling on all car enthusiasts that if they know where a Fiat 500 is hiding, if they have their own Fiat Bambino hidden away.

"Or they know someone for whom the love of their life is a baby Fiat, then they should be getting organized to be in Sydney for Australia Day," adds Alan.

The year of celebration for the Fiat 500 will be much more than a celebration of a famous classic car, its also will serve as the preparation for the launch at the end of the year of the all-new Fiat 500 model, one of the most hotly anticipated cars of 2007.
