Fiat are
launching a turbodiesel version of the Fiat Palio
Adventure in Argentina with the objective of increasing
sales of the popular off-road capable estate car. The
"Adventure" tag denotes Fiat vehicles sold across South
America that are re-worked to provide, toughness,
durability and enhanced safety and designed to be
practical vehicles in rugged environments. The
"Adventure" range comprises of the Palio Weekend
(estate), Doblò (light van), Idea (minivan) and Strada
(pick-up), Each Adventure model is immediately
identifiable by bigger and chunkier front and rear
bumpers, plastic wheel arch and sill protection covers,
aluminum protection plates, bigger alloy wheels fitted
with off-road tyres, roof bars, external spare wheel (on
the Doblò and Idea) and a raised ride height.
The Palio Adventure is the key selling model in the
range, a it is vehicle that Fiat believe can be just as
easily be used as a practical family car as at ease in a
town environment as it can as an off-road capable load-lugger.
Now the model gets the option of diesel power (an option
which is not permitted on the Brazilian market, where it
is built, at the giant Betim factory at Belo Horizonte
in the Minas Gerais region).
